And here’s my short little poem. I really felt like spring had finally arrived. It’s been a cold and windy April and early May. Today was beautiful.
First, the crocuses
then forsythia
and daffodils.
Doomed ladybugs emerged
from the rims of potted plants, lie desiccated
on the windowsill.
Ant hills crown my
driveway, while the lawn greens.
But now, on a warm day,
the gnat cloud dances
on the slow breath of God.
Now.
Now, it’s spring.
